Dr. Martin Genzel

I'm working as a Senior Machine Learning Researcher and Team Lead at Merantix Momentum. I'm an applied mathematician by training, who is fascinated by the idea of solving computationally challenging problems in the real world by data-driven methods. Most of my previous work focuses on exploring the power of deep learning algorithms for ill-posed inverse problems, computational/medical imaging, signal-processing, and low-complexity models. Prior to Merantix, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB) and the Mathematical Institute of Utrecht University. Before this, I completed my PhD at the Institute of Mathematics of TU Berlin in 2019. My original background is in applied functional analysis, high-dimension probability, and compressed sensing.
