Dr. Martin Genzel
I'm a Staff Machine Learning Researcher at Merantix Momentum. I work on the efficient inference and compression of Large Foundation Models, driven by the belief that this technology should be accessible, trustworthy, and deployable without compromising data privacy. I'm an applied mathematician by training who is fascinated by using data-driven and resource-efficient methods to tackle computationally challenging problems in the real world.
My previous work has focused on deep learning for tabular and time-series data, data-driven approaches to ill-posed inverse problems and computational/medical imaging, signal processing, and low-complexity models. Prior to Merantix Momentum, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB) and the Mathematical Institute of Utrecht University. Before this, I completed my PhD at the Institute of Mathematics of TU Berlin in 2019. My background is in applied functional analysis, high-dimension probability, and compressed sensing.
